Assignment 1
To begin, please review the sexual harassment policy on the
TBR website. This policy applies to all community colleges in Tennessee. While
you review the sexual harassment policy, briefly take note so that you may
discuss the policy in our online Google Community. Your post should briefly
describe what YOU learned about the policy and should have a minimum of 150
words. You should view the discussion board rubric (below) to understand how
your discussion posts will be assessed.

Assessment 1
Question 1: Bud has frequently stopped by Sally’s office and told what some (including Sally) would consider being inappropriate jokes – often having a sexual connotation. Sally has indicated to Bud that she does not appreciate the inappropriate comments, but he continues to tell the jokes. Sally is torn in that she doesn’t want to "squeal" on Bud, but the jokes have gotten worse. What should Sally’s next action involve? (Please answer in the appropriate online discussion area in our "Google Community." Your response will be evaluated using the rubric below.)
Question 2: Bill, an African American, has excelled in his job performance for the last three years. This year, his department head changed and now his job performance evaluation score has decreased. Bill talks with some of his co-workers about this issue and all have indicated that their job performance evaluations have also decreased. Is this an example of racial discrimination? What should (if anything) Bill "do?" (Please answer in the appropriate online discussion area in our "Google Community." Your response will be evaluated using the rubric below.)

- Refusing to hire, promote, or grant or deny certain privileges because of acceptance or rejection of sexual advances;
- Promising a work-related benefit or a grade in return for sexual favors;
- Suggestive or inappropriate communications, email, notes, letters, or other written materials displaying objects or pictures which are sexual in nature that would create hostile or offensive work or living environments;
- Sexual innuendoes, comments, and remarks about a person’s clothing, body or activities;
- All of the above options are examples of sexual harassment.
